Reviewer Comments: Historical lovers who enjoy a book that packs an emotional punch, this is the book for you. Set against the backdrop of the violent Irish/English conflict, you are introduced again to Sean O'Neill and Eleanor de Warenne who are first introduced in THE PRIZE. Having not read THE PRIZE yet myself, I can say that THE STOLEN BRIDE is easily a stand alone book.
Eleanor de Warenne, who has loved Sean O'Neill, totally and completely since she was a child is devastated when he decides to leave and make his way through the world. Having been raised together as stepbrother and sister, their bond through the years in undeniable. Though Eleanor knows her true love is Sean, he has not reached that same conclusion. He yearns for more in life and goes to find himself. Unfortunately he encounters dangerous times and is thrown into an event that will alter his life forever...
When Sean returns many years later to Adare, Ireland, having endured extreme hardships in prison, he finds that Eleanor is no longer the gawky young girl she once was. Having grown into a very desirable woman, Eleanor wants to abandon her engagement to Peter Sinclair, an honorable Englishman she might have loved, had it not been for Sean. The circumstances are not that simple, however, as Sean is being pursued relentlessly and any future with him seems impossible. In the flash of a moment, Sean's decision to take Eleanor on her wedding day and run from the authorities will change their lives forever.
With a cast of strong secondary characters, a very nasty villain, and a lot of passion and emotion Brenda Joyce pens another winner in her de Warenne Dynasty series.
