A Week from Sunday is about a woman growing and finding a life that she never expected.
Adrianna Moore is the daughter of a banker. She is shocked to learn upon her father's death that he has put his lawyer in charge as executer of his estate. She is further dismayed when Richard Pope tells her that he will return a week from Sunday and they will be married. Taking matters into her own hands, she packs a suitcase and flees.
Unfortunately, luck is not with her. A severe storm pops up while she’s driving and causes her to crash into lumberjack and bartender, Quinn Baxter’s truck.
Quinn needed the money that the liquor inside of his truck would bring. Even more important was his friend’s hands, the hands that played the piano in the bar and brought in customers.
Adriana decides to play at the bar and help Quinn with his crippled, younger brother to repay him for the damage she caused. She has no idea what she’s getting herself involved in.
Adrianna is a woman who finds a steel backbone. She discovers that she is capable of much more than she ever would have attempted or known had she not decided to make a new life. The changes that she brings to others are life altering and commendable. They aren’t forced, but flow easily and in a realistic manner.
I was slightly irritated that Quinn ignored an obvious threat inside of his home, a threat that endangered his brother. I had a hard time understanding how a man so attuned to threats could ignore one right under his nose.
I liked this book and would recommend it to others searching for a well written love story.
